If you go down to the woods today,,, you might just meet John and Pippa.  In Pressmennan Woods that is, just a couple of miles west of Spott.

The Woods

Once you walk up the hill the effort is repaid with fantastic views.  You can see across East Lothian and beyond into Fife.

A view over East Lothian

And there was time to take a couple of pics of us!

John enjoying the view
As we headed down the hill we got this fantastic view across to the East...

And a little further on is the lake side.  A lake not a loch for those of you paying attention.  Watch this space for an explaination of the difference.

The Lake

In old dying wood where beasties hide,
Magical creatures now reside
Follow the map and be quiet as a mouse,
You might find a door to a Tootflit’s house

The Tootflits can fly so look up to their door,
But don’t iss the Glingbobs near the forest floor
They both forage daily for things to eat
Edible fungus is a special treat

They work in the woods and love to play games,
So keep your eyes open and remember their names
Have a wonderful day feeling free to roam,
In search of a Glingbob or Tootflit home

Discover the magic deep in the wood,
And have a special fun day like every child should.

And now home for a hearty lunch.

Having said that the sun always shines in Dunbar ("Sunny Dunny" as its known) this weekend delivered the worst storm we have seen since we moved north of the border.  Despite the weather we braved a trip to the Falkirk wheel.  However the pictures here are "ones we made earlier"!

Not being content with being blown around at Falkirk we headed off to Rosslyn Chapel.  Photography is not allowed in the chapel so yet another cheat here, some downloaded images.  It really is a beautiful place and highly recommended for a visit.  Rosslyn Chapel

We couldn't resist the opportunity to go to the secret beach again but by popular request we've just included the people shots.  Heading down the track to the beach
Anne and Bryan had a fit of giggles just as we did when we first ventured down there.  We shall continue the experiment and see if it has the same effect on other visitors.

Me - at last!

In our garden is a summer house. When we first arrived it seemed like a lovely west facing sun trap.  The weather has deteriorated very quickly and it isn't quite the sun trap we first thought!
