Coldingham has a reputation as a local surfers'  paradise and a minus 3 frost didn't stop them when we went to visit.  Yes that is frost on the beach!

The waves got more impressive the longer we stayed, spot the surfer in the distance.

And yes it was still sunny......

Skateraw Harbour and Whitesands beach are just south of Dunbar.  We parked at Skateraw Habour where the bay is small and beautiful.  To your right is Torness Power Station and to your left the beach stretches for miles.  We walked all the way past the Barns Ness Lighthouse where the old lighthouse keepers cottages look to be holiday lets (the lighthouse is now fully automatic). Past the lighthouse is Whitesands Beach.  It was a blustery day but sunny (as always!).  Yet another gorgeous beach discovered.  We finished off with a maiden flight of our kite.

Belhaven Beach is in Dunbar itself.  It is a great expanse of sand at low tide which stretches across a wide bay.  The sun was out and so were the surfers - despite the frost on the sand!

Saturday brought the first snowfall this winter but it didn't stop us getting out and about.

Last weekend we headed south from Spott - to Berwick Upon Tweed and Eyemouth but first we stopped at the tiny fishing village of Cove. Access is via a steep track that leads to the secluded Harbour - and the beach via a tunnel carved into the cliff face.

The Beach at Gullane was our destination on Sunday. We knew it would be a more popular beach than the more deserted ones we've been to the last few weeks - but didn't quite expect there to be quite so many people!

Fortunately it wasn't quite so busy in the other direction! So we headed that way.......
