Neil, Clair, Lyka and Dylan came to visit.  And guess where we went.... to the beach!

It might not look like it but these poppies are at the beach too - North Berwick.....

And the woods, just for a change. This is Brock wood just 5 minutes from the house.

We decided to take a day trip to Orkney but  we picked the day with gale force winds!It was colder than it looks honest!

One of our first views of Orkney, the colours were impressive.

Orkney has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site and has an abundance of Neolithic sites.  The first we visted was the standing stones, although the wind meant we found it difficult to stand up!

Just up the road is the Ring of Brodgar made from rocks brought from different areas of Orkeny. 

I did say it was windy

Then to Stromness which is a beautiful, pictureque town

This is us at the most northerly point on mainland Britain - Dunnet Head.  John O'Groats is the most northerly "town" for  those of you who didn't know.
