Last weekend we had a visit from John's sister and family - including Barny the dog!

We had a great time and managed to squeeze in a day in Edinburgh (with a trip to Dynamic Earth) as well as a few visits to the beach and a walk in the woods!

This was a walk that took us to Rosslyn Glen - the valley below Rosslyn Chapel. Starting at Rosslyn Castle we made our way up the steep sided valley - at times the path leading right along the waters edge. About 5 miles in distance and very muddy in places it was perfect for blowing away New Year cobwebs!

After a rather busy New Year  (including having a gas leak at our Leeds house - a couple of days before moving everything out for our new tennant to move in) it was quite nice to get back to normal in Scotland! This is the beach front at North Berwick - lined with some lovely properties and home to the Scottish Seabird Centre.
